This Mom Used A Victoria's Secret Photo To Show Why There's Nothing Wrong With Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding in public is often viewed as "inappropriate," but when you look at scantily clad advertisements that are deemed socially acceptable, it really makes you think. Why are certain types of nudity deemed "suitable" while others are frowned upon, specifically, the natural act of breastfeeding your child.

One mom wanted to prove that point, and she did it in a very powerful way.

Maria Corry is a devoted mother and wife.

She said on her Facebook page that when it comes to breastfeeding, she normally takes a reserved approach, but she wanted to make a statement about how nursing is viewed by others.

The North Carolina mom received backlash after posting THIS photo on her Facebook page.

"I am not typically one to ever do this as I am very private when nursing but with all this nonsense about people bashing other mothers for nursing, I decided to post this," wrote Corry. "You can't see much, but why do people get so worked up about this? NORMALIZE BREASTFEEDING! It's nature! It's what boobies are for!!!!!!!!"

The photo was reported five times.

She was angry.

Corry was upset that feeding her child could be deemed as "inappropriate" or "sexualized" when advertisements of scantily clad models are completely acceptable. She felt it was an unfair double standard.

She responded by posting another photo the very next day.

"So since my breastfeeding photo which showed NOTHING got reported more than FIVE times...

"...I'm posting this," read the caption. "I bet this won't be reported, because you can see this picture in every mall you step into, huge and blown up outside the store. This is not frowned upon, or ever reported, as it is seen everywhere. But a women nurturing and feeding their baby is looked down on."

"That is completely absurd!

"Moms, post your breast selfies below. Nurse in public. People who think breastfeeding is nasty, or looked at sexually is a pedophile for even thinking of it in that way! Breastfeeding is natural, it's what our breasts were meant for! In other countries breastfeeding is praised, and welcomed everywhere! In America, people have so much negative things to say about it..."

"I'm done with this stupid nonsense.

"I can't believe how much backlash my photo got, but more importantly I got tons of support and I thank you all. And again, BREAST IS BEST!"

The photo has been liked by over 34,000 people and shared over 7,000 times.

The comment section of her post is filled with other moms posting "brelfies..."

... aka breast-feeding selfies.

COMMENT on if you agree or disagree with Corry's stance on normalizing breastfeeding!
